Review

Health-conscious, budget-conscious and taste-conscious? If one (or more) of these adjectives aptly describe you, then go ahead and troop to the Persia Grill nearest you. Owned and managed by half-Iranian, half Filipino celebrity restaurateur Kian Kazemi, this place promises to give you hot-off-the-grill Persian dishes without spending much and sacrificing your diet.

“Almost 80 percent of the dishes we serve here are healthy dishes,” Kian says matter-of-factly, being a health buff himself.

Persia Grill began as a barren space in Valero Street, Makati City that Kian received as a college graduation gift from his parents. From there, he used his hotel and restaurant management degree from the De La Salle University and his family's own rich heritage to put up the establishment. The place quickly gained popularity among hungry diners who wanted to satiate their appetite for authentic kebabs, tikkas and hummus among others.

The restaurant’s branch at Ecoplaza Building along Don Chino Roces Avenue in Makati City exudes a welcoming atmosphere for hungry souls on the prowl for authentic Persian fare. The place has a contemporary, Middle Eastern ambiance— complete with sitars and Persian artworks hanging on the walls, and Persian music playing in the background.

Urban yet homey, Persia Grill's interiors are interesting and welcoming—where one can escape or drop by after a workout session at the gym, or even take a date out for some healthy, guilt-free indulgence.
