Manila, Philippines (5 January 2012) – Welcome the Year of the Water Dragon with Hyatt Hotel and Casino Manila. On January 22 and 23, 2012, usher in the Lunar New Year with gastronomic highs and festivities steeped in grand Chinese tradition.
Occurring only every 60 years, the Year of the Water Dragon is believed to bring energy, luck and opportunities with it. This is why Hyatt Hotel and Casino Manila invites you to revel in the festivities, including a Chinese dragon dance complemented by authentic and auspicious Cantonese dishes.

Executive Chef Josef Miklavc and his team of master chefs rise to the occasion by preparing a banquet of Lunar New Year delicacies at Market Cafe, as well as special set menus at Li Li, Hyatt's signature Chinese restaurant.
Adding to the festivities, Li Li's Chef de Cuisine Andy Chan has prepared an exquisite set menu with 11 courses that are sure to delight and please even the most discerning palate, including Five Kinds of Appetisers, Roasted Hong Kong-style Chicken, Steamed Live Garoupa with Yunnan Ham, Dried Oyster with Hair Moss and Mushroom Soup, Steamed Stuffed Mushrooms with Shrimp Mousse; and Crab Coral Sauce and Pan-Fried Glutinous Rice Cake Coated with Egg, among others.
These delicacies were selected because their ingredients are believed to bring good fortune. Rice Cake or Gao means progress, Five Kinds of Appetisers represent the five blessings of the year, which are riches, wisdom, longevity, peace, and virtue. Hair Moss or Fa Cai symbolizes good fortune, while Dried Oyster or Hao Chi means good business.

Diners can also look forward to the arrival of the God of Good Fortune, who will be giving away ang paos filled with gold coins symbolizing good luck on the eve of New Year.
The set menu at Li Li will be offered at dinner on January 22, 2012, and both lunch and dinner the following day. A Chinese à la carte menu will also be offered.
Continue the culinary festivities at Market Cafe with a host of Chinese New Year delicacies such as Hot and Sour Soup; Peking Duck; Fried Crispy Noodles with Assorted Seafood; Wok-Fried Beef Tenderloin in Mandarin Sauce; Hainanese Chicken; Fried Rice with Shrimp in Lotus Leaf; Barbecued Pork Charsiu; Assorted Dim Sum; and the traditional Tikoy will likewise be served.
