Upon searching the Internet for fun food facts to post, I found out that today is National Peanut Butter Day in the US (or at least in our timezone it is). While we don't celebrate it in the Philippines, this humble dish is worth celebrating. Going beyond the basic PBJ sandwich, peanut butter features in a lot of savory dishes, like our very own Kare Kare!
People like their peanut butter in different ways: chunky, crunchy, smooth, salty or sweet. Some people even favor local peanut butter over their American counterparts.
