Rainy days always make us want to enjoy the cold weather by sleeping in and lazing around at home to catch the newest flick on HBO. Rainy day traffic is also something to we don’t want to harass ourselves with, and so we’d rather buy good and affordable takeout food and enjoy the delicious meal in the comfort of our couch.
Here’s our top three best rainy day takeout food that keeps us from singing “rain, rain go away”.
Aysee's Sisig and Crispy Pork

R: Aysee’s sisig is in the running for the best sisig I have ever tasted. I found myself drooling over the buttery and margarine-like flavor that was just so addicting. It was so good I managed to finish close to a whole cup of rice, but it was definitely worth all the calories.
C: Aysee is not exactly a place to share a romantic date in. However, if you are looking for affordable, delicious food that any guy (or not-so-figure-conscious girl) will definitely enjoy – this is definitely worth the trip. What I like the most about Aysee’s Sisig is its distinct texture and flavor. It’s crispy and tasty even when cold and really goes well with beer too! Just watch out for the calories as I hear that they put some kind of margarine to give it that salty, savory taste.

R: The Crispy Pork deserved its name, indeed. It was crispy from the pork meat all the way to the layer of pork fat that made this delicious meal even more sinful. And again, I couldn’t resist eating this with rice. The soy sauce mixture brought out the pork’s flavor even more. I appreciated how despite being deep fried, the pork wasn’t oily at all. If I were to choose between the sisig and the pork though, I’d give the sisig the gold medal.
C: I became interested in this when my officemate kept on raving about it. Crispy pork to me is usually as good at home as it is in restaurants – but in this case, I may say that Aysee’s really delivered beyond expectation. They have managed to cook this pork very well such that the meat and skin are very crispy while the fat has a nice fried-but-not-greasy texture. Overall, it’s straightforward dish that is cooked well – a must try for only 100pesos.
