  • ingredients for the dough:
  • 2 tsps Instant yeast
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 3/4 cup Warm Water
  • 2 Tbsps Olive Oil
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • ingredients for the tomato sauce:
  • 2 Tbsps Olive oil
  • 1/2 Small onion chopped
  • 3 Tbsps Garlic , chopped
  • 1 cup Tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper
  • toppings:
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
  • • Pepperoni , garlic

steps

procedure for dough:

  1. Dissolve sugar in warm water. Add instant yeast and let activate for 5-7 minutes until bubbly.
  2. In another bowl, combine flour and salt.  Pour in bubbly yeast mixture.  If using an electric mixer, mix using a dough hook attachment for 5-7 minutes or until dough forms a soft, sticky ball.
  3. To knead by hand, transfer to a clean working surface dusted with flour.  Knead for 8-10 minutes until dough is soft and elastic.
  4. Let kneaded dough rest in a covered bowl for an hour.
  5. Roll out into desired shape. Dust fine breadcrumbs on a pizza stone or baking tray.  Lay pizza dough on top and bake in a pre-heated oven until partially cooked.

procedure for tomato sauce:

In a small sauce pan, heat olive oil. Sauté onions and then garlic. Pour in tomato sauce. Simmer for about 15-20 minutes. Season with Italian seasoning, salt and pepper.

procedure for toppings:

  1. Spread tomato sauce on pizza dough. Scatter cheeses evenly over sauce, ending with desired toppings.
  2. Bake for about 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and crust is golden.
